As president, Deryka monitors the Chapter's affairs and leads the 2018 Board of Directors in fulfilling their key deliverables. As head of the Local Organization, she acts as the National Councilor to JCI West Indies. Her goal for 2018 is to have a year of transformation that propels the organisation forward for years to come.

Members of the JCI Barbados Board of Directors serve our organization for a term of one administrative year. They lead positive change under their respective portfolios of President, Executive Vice President, Vice Presidents, General Legal Counsel, Treasurer and Secretary. To fulfill key deliverables, appointments are made as deemed necessary; this year the Board made two appointments - Executive Assistant and Public Relations Director. The Board is nominated for these positions and the members of JCI Barbados elect them at our Annual General Meeting. |

Janet Taylor Executive Vice President As the second in command, Janet oversees the Vice Presidents' portfolios as well as ensuring the success of all projects. She plays a critical role in aligning the local projects with the JCI Active Citizens Framework to maximize community impact, project relevance and sustainability. Sherry Jerry treasurer Sherry plays an integral role in maintaining the financial viability and integrity of the Chapter’s finances. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial transactions of JCI Barbados and prepares the 2018 Budget. Furthermore, her role seeks to capitalize on investment opportunities and offer any financial advice to help the Chapter succeed from strategy through execution. Felicia Gibbs Public Relations Director As Public Relations Director, Felicia is positioned to form synergies between the internal and external portfolios. Her role takes the shape of maintaining JCI Barbados’ website and social media platforms, issuing newsletters and publications; with the aim in mind to raise the level of awareness of JCI local, regional and international events. |
Ronet Johnson Vice President, Internal Affairs Ronet takes on the mantle of increasing our membership base and retaining valued members. She is set to achieve this by enhancing membership benefits and selling the JCI experience. To this end, she is primarily responsible for planning all community outreach activities and member socials. She is also the liaison officer for the Barbados delegation to JCI National and International events. Maria Roach Secretary general Our Secretary General, Maria, is charged with the task of providing timely minutes for all meetings as mandated by our Constitution. In addition to this, she is responsible for the issuance of correspondence on behalf of the Board to members. Maria also maintains the database for JCI Barbados and offers training to project chairpersons. Trishtanne Gittens Executive Assistant Trishtanne has been assigned to the Internal Growth & Development portfolio. She is primarily responsible for overseeing all of the Chapter's training activities (JCI official courses, public speaking & debating preparation, and personal & professional development) and is also tasked with coordinating the Ten Outstanding Young Persons project in 2018. |
Michael Mayers Vice President, External Affairs & Business Development This role is pivotal in forming strategic alliances with our partners and innovating the way we communicate with our stakeholders locally and abroad. Michael's role seeks to enhance and promote the visibility of JCI Barbados in the wider community through increased marketing, partnerships and sponsorship. Michael also oversees the Public Relations Director to effectively implement the JCI Marketing Plan. Malika Chow Legal Counsel/Immediate Past President Malika, a Past President, provides guidance to the incumbent President and the 2018 Board of Directors, ensuring that all activities are aligned to the mission and vision of the Chapter. Her role serves to attest that JCI Barbados’ meetings are in accordance with the Constitution for the administrative year and maintain legality at all times. Kevin Hinds Senate Chairman Senator Kevin's role as Senate Chairman involves serving as the link between the Senate, the Board, and the General Assembly of JCI Barbados. He is also responsible for engaging, reviving, and growing the JCI Barbados Senate. With a wealth of knowledge gained from serving on local, national, and international Boards, Senator Kevin will also be a source of advice and support to the 2018 Board of Directors. |
