The aim of this project is to assist vulnerable families in Barbados, that are unable to purchase goods for their households due to various reasons (for example unemployment, lack of transportation or are part of an at-risk group). We will be utilising small businesses as our vendors in order to supplement their loss of income and allow them to earn money for their households.

In order to fight COVID-19 effectively, we must all act together regardless of race, age, religion, political party or private sector business. We are aware that the task beforehand may seem daunting in the face of intense hardship that seems to worsen with each day. However, we believe that this is a time where selflessness can heal our hurting nation and inspire our people to be once again our brother’s keeper. COVID-19 is not nearly as contagious as the spirit of the Jaycees (JCI) when we want to make a mark and we wish to challenge this fantastic organization to spread support, calm and love. If we give it our absolute all, the effort will never be forgotten by those we touch. We’re all in this together; together we must not retreat and we must not surrender. 

Objectives:

• To assist vulnerable families in Barbados in their ability to source goods for their households during the COVID-19 pandemic
• To work in tandem with other organisations that are assisting with COVID-19 relief efforts 
• To support small businesses that can supply the necessary goods and/or handle deliveries
