The Green Roots Project is the fourth annual initiative seeking to educate the youth of Barbados about their environment, history and to build an awareness of the need to make Barbados a “green society” thereby meeting one of the national strategic objectives of Barbados. The one-year project is a collaborative effort between JCI, participating schools, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Environment, National Conservation Commission (NCC) and Corporate Sponsors. At the end of the project, it is expected that school children within their communities, will be more sensitized to their environment by engaging in wholesome fun-filled activities such as art competitions and the Feed the Nation Garden Initiative.
