JCI DSG Arrey's Visit to Barbados a Success!!!
Dust has settled on the JCI Deputy Secretary General's visit to Bim. If you weren't there to join in the experience, then you definitely missed something special!!!
From the time, DSG Arrey landed in Barbados it was clear he was on a mission - to aid in the development of the members of JCI Barbados and ensure the sustainability of the organisation. Our newest members had the privilege of receiving training of the highest calibre and being inducted to JCI in his presence, an experience which will lie in their memories for a lifetime. Not only did Arrey mingle with JCI members, but a key objective was achieved in collaborating and building strategic partnerships with Junior Achievement and Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI).
JCI Barbados thanks DSG Arrey for his visit and are extremely grateful for his tremendous guidance. The organisation has definitely been elevated to another level .

Mad Hatter Raffle
On May 30th, 2013 prizes for the inaugural Mad Hatter Raffle hosted by Junior Chambers International Barbados (JCI Barbados) were presented. The draw was conducted at the office of the Barbados Council for the Disabled (BCD) at the Historic Garrison Area by JCI Barbados President 2013 Kevin Hinds and Operations Manager, Rosanna Tudor along with other members from the BCD.
JCI Barbados’s senators and chapter members were actively involved in the promotion of the Raffle and took the opportunity to capitalize on the exposure garnered to inform persons within the community of the local organisation's mandate. Over 200 persons within the Barbadian community got involved in the event that embodied the JCI Barbados’ spirit of volunteerism and community engagement.
It was with great joy that JCI Barbados was able to meet the unspoken needs of the community and make a donation of 50% of the proceeds raised to a worthy organization, the Barbados Council for the Disabled. However, this would not have been possible without the tremendous support received from the business community. As such, it is with great pleasure that we take the opportunity to thank key members of the business community who made the donations of the fantastic prizes offered: Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, Bubbas Sports Bar and Restaurant, Champers Restaurant and Wine Bar, The Club Barbados Southern Palms Hotel and Sweet Temptations.
The winners are listed below. Persons who were unable to collect the prizes on the presentation date can feel free to contact us via email at [email protected]

JCI Barbados meets up with the UNDP
The UNDP reached out to JCI Barbados following a feature article on volunteerism in the local newspaper in April 2013. A meeting was subsequently held at the UN House on Tuesday, May 21 where discussions commenced on how the UNDP and JCI could collaborate and build a partnership which will be beneficial to the Barbadian community and the wider Caribbean.
In attendance were UNDP representative, Wonjae Lee, and JCI Barbados President, Kevin Hinds. Discussions were definitely fruitful and JCI Barbados is looking forward to great things resulting from this collaboration even though it is in its early stages. Stay tuned for more!
