Project ME: Mission Empowerment's main objective is to offer insight and structure to the Barbadian youth within the age range of 16-25 as they pursue a successful career through professionally-oriented development skills.
Young people are a valuable resource. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow… they are also the leaders of today! In 2012, the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association outlined the importance of young people being aggressive in seeking out opportunities not only for employment, but in seeking those opportunities which will see them successfully taking up their desired career choices in sectors which will enhance growth in the economy. Project ME will be the platform on which our youth will be empowered to make this vision a reality.
Through presentation of key developmental modules, JCI hopes to foster the idea of seeing oneself, “ME”, as a continuous project! - A multifaceted area of lifelong growth and learning, that needs to be fed continuously throughout life. The project is an extension of the JCI Barbados vision: “to provide developmental opportunities that empower young people to create positive change” .
A one day webinar will also be hosted to introduce young professionals to the corporate world and to educate them on work etiquette and the best practices in Barbados.
Our aim is to inculcate in the youth of Barbados, our tomorrow, the values and benefits of hard work, dedication, professionalism, and trustworthiness… all core tenets this nation was built upon, which will also carry us forward through this millennium.
